Reptile Under the Flowers, Los Angeles (fabrication, puppeteer)

From May 21-24, 2009, I was a puppeteer, puppet fabricator, and kinegram designer for Janie Geiser’s peepshow/diorama performance, Reptile Under the Flowers.  Automata and the Museum of Jurassic Technology co-presented 45 performances of Reptile Under the Flowers for small groups over the course of 4 days at the The Foshay Masonic Lodge in Culver City, Los Angeles.

On May 15th, 2009 I earned my MFA degree from California Institute for the Arts (CalArts) in Scenic Design in the Puppetry track from the Theater School and the Cotsen Center for Puppetry and the Arts. I attended CalArts between 2006-2009 under the mentorship of Janie Geiser and Susan Simpson and developed two major productions, Growing Up Linda and Bride of Wildenstein – The Musical,.

My short puppet film, Jackson’s Private Zoo screened on May 1st & 2nd, 2009 at Salvage Vanguard Theater in Austin, TX. Jackson’s Private Zoo took the form of a music video that celebrated the relationship between a reclusive pop star and a very special monkey. The screening was part of the Not Humanly Possible program  curated by Jean Marie Keevins  at the Fusebox Festival.
