Not Alone, 2014 Brooklyn (puppets on film)

On June 8th, 2014 Trish Sie’s short film – Not Alone,  which I puppeteered in, was screened for a 2nd time Brooklyn Academy of Music. Not Alone, the official music video for Ben Taylor’s song, follows a lonely sock who searches everywhere for a soulmate.

Anna Sosenko Trust (support)

On June 3rd, 2014, I was awarded funding from the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust for the Los Angeles workshops of Object of Her Affection at Automata and at REDCAT for the New Original Works Festival.  Object of Her Affection is a solo puppetry and object performance art piece centered on a woman, who in her search for true love develops intimate relationships with inanimate objects.  The funds from the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust went towards developing the sound design and music.

Homecoming Queen – 2013, Los Angeles (theatre, puppet design)

On October 25th, 2013, Julie Brown’s Homecoming Queen’s Got a Musical, a musical-theatre show based on her 1983 music video, Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun) opened at the Cavern Club at Casita del Campo in Silverlake, Los Angeles.  For Homecoming Queen, I made a humanette puppet used by Drew Droege as Debbie Dickey, the homecoming queen. I also performed an assortment of characters.

Improvatorium – 7/13, Los Angeles (improv performer)

The July 25th, 2013 edition of  Improvatorium – The Next Generation featured Chris Sheets, Debra Eckloff, Alexandra Hoover, Frank Banz, Javier Estrella, and Paul O’Flaherty, with musical guest, Dan Ring, and special guests Vanessa Whitney, Grant Baciocco, and Julie Brown. Improvatorium – The Next Generation was an improv show at Theatre Asylum in Los Angeles directed by Jayne Entwistle.

For the July 18th, 2013 edition of  Julie & Maria Witch Hunters at iO West, I performed Ham In A Wig. Sung as Elton John to the tune of Candles in the Wind,  Ham In A Wig focused on the self-inflicted demise of Paula Deen who was in the news for using racially derogatory language.
