Wake up Your Weird, Los Angeles (puppeteer, theatre)

On September 17th, 2011, I was an assistant/puppeteer for Leslie Carrara-Rudolph on her performance, Wake Up Your Weird at the Cavern Club Theatre in Silverlake, Los Angeles. In Wake Up Your Weird 5-year-old Lolly weaves a magical musical tale about a girl, a brain named Doyle, a lizard, a Fairy Godmother and a flying Grandma. This show teaches kids how to overcome bullying by championing their own unique gifts. An adventure you’ll never forget.

Wake Up Your Weird, Waterford, CT (performance)

In June 2011, I was the recipient of the Connecticut Guild of Puppetry Scholarship to participate in the the National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT. While at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center I worked on Web of Mystery,  in which a spider dances with it’s puppeteers before overtaking one of them, and as an assistant puppeteer on Leslie Cararra-Rudolph’s Wake Up Your Weird, in which a candy obsessed five year old must process her feelings after getting bullied out of a play date.

On Saturday, June 18th 2011, I performed Web of Mystery  with Sharon Challenger and Jessica Simon at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center at the culmination of the National Puppetry Conference. In Web of Mystery, a spider dances with it’s puppeteers before overtaking one of them. Melissa Dunphy composed original music.

Dawn of the Apocalypse

 

On June 19th, 2010, I performed as an anthropomorphized oil spill in Dawn of The Apocalypse, a song response to the Deepwater Horizon spill with music composed by Melissa Dunphy.  I performed Dawn of the Apocalypse at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center at the culmination of the 2010 National Puppetry Conference.

Matt Rineveld Memorial Fund (support)

In June 2010, I was the recipient of the Connecticut Guild of Puppetry Scholarship to participate in the the National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT. While at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center I worked on Dawn of the Apocalypse in which I portrayed an anthropomorphized oil spill, I performed puppets in Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, (a puppet film directed by Tim Lagasse and Martin Robinson), Fudgie’s Death at Blue Gene’s Pub, and Paul McGuiness’ table-top puppetry piece on split focus. While there I also hosted a puppet slam summit with Puppet Slam Network curators from around the country.
