On December 30th, 2014, an entry on Object of Her Affection was published in the 2015 Contemporary Performance Almanac.
Object of Her Affection is a solo puppetry and object performance art piece centered on a woman, who in her search for true love develops intimate relationships with inanimate objects.
Edited by Caden Manson and Jemma Nelson, and published by Big Art Group, Contemporary Performance was an overview of performance art presented during the 2013/2014 season that’s available for touring.
So often presenters, artists and audiences do not have access to the work of artists that are outside the touring circuit. Contemporary Performance sees a need to give access to members of the field to find each other and start new working relationships. Inside the pages of the Almanac are the artworks accompanied by full page black and white images and described by the artists in their own words: eloquent, challenging, provocative and urgent. The Contemporary Performance Network is a social network and community organizing platform providing artists, presenters, scholars and festivals a place to meet, share work, and collaborate. The term contemporary performance is used to describe hybrid performance works and artists that travel between the fields of experimental theatre & dance, video art, visual art, music composition and performance art without adhering to one specific field’s practice. The Network was founded in 2010 and has grown to 6500 artists, presenters, curators, foundations, scholars and publishers from 85 countries worldwide.
