The July 25th, 2013 edition of Improvatorium – The Next Generation featured Chris Sheets, Debra Eckloff, Alexandra Hoover, Frank Banz, Javier Estrella, and Paul O’Flaherty, with musical guest, Dan Ring, and special guests Vanessa Whitney, Grant Baciocco, and Julie Brown. Improvatorium – The Next Generation was an improv show at Theatre Asylum in Los Angeles directed by Jayne Entwistle.

The Gunman, Brooklyn (screening)
On Thursday, July 18th, 2013 at 7:00PM, my ultra-short puppet animation film, “The Gunman” was screened at Standard ToyKraft as part of “Summer Cinema Presents: Glen or Glenda”. The pre-show line up (curated by Jessica Scott) also included films by Daphne Gardner, Beau Brown and Trey Kirchoff. I animated “The Gunman” in 2007 using found objects, figurines, and toys, with drawings by Katie Shook, and assistance from Laura Heit and Dillon Markey.

For the July 18th, 2013 edition of Julie & Maria Witch Hunters at iO West, I performed Ham In A Wig. Sung as Elton John to the tune of Candles in the Wind, Ham In A Wig focused on the self-inflicted demise of Paula Deen who was in the news for using racially derogatory language.

At the conference, I worked with Jim Kroupa on mechanisms, Jim Rose on marionette construction, and on my participant piece, Ashes to Ashes, Rust to Rust, an excerpt from Object of Her Affection with Sharon Challenger.
