Between May 15 and July 2nd, 2016, I activated (In)/Animate Objects, my installation at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery in Los Angeles
EXHIBITION
(In)/Animate Objects, included over a thousand handmade distressed dolls that I created for the C.O.L.A. Individual Artist Fellowships Exhibition.
The installation was the companion piece to the performance, Object of Her Affection, in which a woman, Andrea Lowe, an Object Sexual has mysteriously fallen from a building she loved. In (In)/Animate Objects, years have passed and her grandmother has amassed thousands of rag dolls that testify to the insatiable need for love at the heart of the obsessional life.
Most of the time, the dolls were inanimate, but from time to time, I came to the gallery to animate them.
