EXHIBITION

For this exhibition I premiered (In)/Animate Objects, a new installation, which included over a thousand handmade distressed dolls created with over 60 people.  The installation was part of the  C.O.L.A. Individual Artist Fellowships Exhibition. From time to time, I came to the gallery to activate installation.

ARTIST TALK

Saturday, June 4th, 2016
2:00PM-4:00PM

I spoke with Allison de Fren at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery on the handmade bodies that populate my work in the COLA Fellowship Exhibition and my obsessions the (in)/animate.

de Fren is a media practitioner and scholar at Occidental College who investigates the relationship between the body and technology, especially about artificial bodies: dolls, puppets, automata, cyborgs, and robots.

CATALOG

Life is nothing if you’re not obsessed,” claimed the cult filmmaker John Waters. I imagine he would find a kindred spirit in the visual and performance artist Marsian De Lellis, whose handmade spectacles memorialize obsessional lives. (More)
