On April 5th, 2001, images of my work from the Undergraduate Exhibition at Gallery 2 in Chicago (one of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago galleries) were featured in the Chicago Journal.

Street parking was neigh impossible to come by during last weekend’s opening reception for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s 2001 Undergraduate Exhibition at 847 W. Jackson Blvd. But for those who either hoofed it or threw down for the nearby valet service, the show – which runs through April 13 (call 312/563-5168 for more information) – proved to be a wide-open melange of artful and even historic stuff. Alongside the grotesque-ish hanging dolls (pictured on the front page of today’s paper) and the occasional hermaphroditic sculpture (right), SAIC student Maria Montes and bluesman Frank “Little Sonny” Scott, Jr. paid homage to Maxwell Street, home of tube sockes and electric blues.
