On March 13th, 2014, I was the recipient of a grant from Creative Capacity Fund’s Quick Grant Program from CCI (The Center for Cultural Innovation) in Los Angeles, for professional development.

The funding from CCI enabled me to take their 8-week signature class, The Business of Art: Entrepreneurial Training for Artists provided by the Center for Cultural Innovation between March 29th – May 14th, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA.
From the CCI Website:
Artists and creative entrepreneurs who take CCI’s signature 8-week program, Business of Art, learn key business skills that provide them with the knowledge and resources to help advance their art, develop their ideas, and increase their financial independence. Business of Art classes are taught by a variety of business leaders with experience in both corporate and nonprofit entities. Students learn key concepts involved in goal-setting, strategic planning, marketing and self-promotion, money management, legal issues, and project financing. In addition to classroom training, all Business of Art™ students participate in cluster counseling sessions with leading arts and business professionals.
The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) was founded in 2001 as a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Its mission is to promote knowledge sharing, networking and financial independence for individual artists and creative entrepreneurs by providing business training, grants, and incubating innovative projects that create new program knowledge, tools and practices for artists in the field.
