On Saturday September 7th, from 8PM-11PM, I will reclaim the fence at 6551 Hollywood Blvd for an installation of doll prints from the (In)/Animate Objects collection. Located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the installation functions as a subvertisment for decay and the contagion of identity – a repetition of a repetition for which there is no original.

The one night public display features 9 20″x26″ prints created in collaboration with Track 16 gallery from the J series of the (In)/Animate Objects collection.
As part of the collection, I hand-stitched over a thousand rag dolls that embodied the obsessions of a doll-hoarding grandmother. (In)/Animate Objects formed the second half of a diptych with its companion performance, Object of Her Affection, centered on a woman who in her search for true love develops intimate relationships with inanimate objects.

Presented by Freewaves, Love +/or Fear: a Celebration of Genders is an outdoor participatory event that brings together 35 artists, art collectives, and organizations to celebrate intersectional gender identities building community in a sexual harassment free zone.
Love +/or Fear evolved from Dis…Miss, a series of exchanges about gender, that used video, performance, and interactions with postcards. Each postcard anonymously asked viewers questions. Answers were then analyzed and displayed as animated infographics in conjunction with screenings, workshops and exhibitions throughout greater Los Angeles.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Freewaves is an arts organization that creates public events to bring diverse audiences and independent artists together in dialogue on current social issues.
